The Saga of Lucimia is a group-based MMORPG set in a high-fantasy setting. The lore of the game puts characters into the world 500 years after The Great War, during which the Archmage Chaldeon took the Book of Knowledge into hiding, deeming humanity unfit and incapable of having the wisdom necessary to truly master magical forces.
As a result, the world of Lucimia is without magic at this point in time. All that remains are the Relics of the times before: scrolls, books, weapons and the like, all from before the time of The Great War. Humans are all that remain, as the Elder races haven’t been seen since the end of the war over 500 years ago.
Scholars with the relevant skills to read runes, translate ancient texts and decipher old books and transcriptions carved into cavern walls can tap into a portion of the ancient power of the Relics left behind, but in the hands of a mundane individual they are nothing more than everyday items.
The storyline of Volume I will move characters towards rediscovering the Book of Knowledge and re-introducing Adepts into the world, along with the Elder Races as playable characters in order to combat the growing threat of the Sunarians as they emerge once again from the shadows under the thrall of the Lich King.
The first expansion, Volume II, will introduce spell casting as well as additional player races (the Dwearhe, Elenhi and Eldeni) and new classes, such as the Adepts, as well as the Apprentice system where players will team up in an Adept/Apprentice relationship for casting bonuses and emergent gameplay where our players will be discovering combinations for spells through trial and error and re-mastering the five elements.
From there, the storyline will follow the books and chapter work laid out in the Story So Far section, moving the players to The Islands in Volume III and then eventually to Sunaria itself in Volume IV.
